To plan a journey could be to win another journey for the entire family! Unbeknown to Sabine Kaufmann this is exactly what would happen to her. Sabine and her folks were busy making their way over 350km from Neustrelitz in Northern Germany to visit some friends. Next stop for Sabine, her family and her friends was a travel fair in Dresden in south-eastern Germany. At this moment Sabine had no clue that she’s going be a great winner by the end of the day.
The host of the annually held travel show in Dresden is “Schulz Aktiv Reisen” which is also one of the German business partners of Jenman African Safaris.
Part of the exhibition at this travel show was a travel-quiz. For correct answers someone could win a valuable holiday-trip. And Sabine, a chef in a retirement home, won and was awarded the journey “From Cape Town to Victoria Falls“, sponsored by Jenman African Safaris. But then a big problem occurred. When she was called on stage for the prize-giving ceremony in the evening – her and her family were actually already travelling back on the highway. So their friends phoned them and told them to come back and fetch the travel-cheque worth ZAR 20 000 (1950 Euro). When Sabine arrived back she was overwhelmed by her luck. “I’m so happy and I still cannot believe it”, said Sabine and explained that Africa was always an aspiration in her dreams and one of the things she wanted to do at least once.
Sabine’s family had planned a small budget hiking-tour to Austria for 2010. But now everything is changed. Her husband Herbert is going to join her on the tour in October. And her employer was convinced to grant her sufficient leave-time for her 4-weeks-adventure in Africa.
Congratulations from everyone at Jenman Safaris!
