1 review for Zambezi Queen – Chobe River, Botswana

  1. Johann Bernard

I was very impressed with the decor of the rooms on the Zambezi Queen houseboat, the style is tasteful and lends a feeling of understated luxury. The big double beds are positioned so that when lying in bed you are treated to excellent game viewing right outside your window. The Chobe River draws a diversity of wildlife along the shoreline, hippos are lolling about, and birdlife is just phenomenal, all of which seem undisturbed by the boat. There are also smaller boats for game viewing excursions, which offer even more up-close game viewing, and fishing is possible too. In fact there are quite a few water-based and land-based activities, so you definitely don’t feel like you are stuck on a boat the entire time. I found the bathrooms exceptionally impressive for a houseboat. The dining area is a lovely space to interact with fellow guests and enjoy refreshing beverages; wine and beers are included but premium alcohol is at an extra charge. I loved the variety of meals served and everything was of a very high standard. In the evenings, the sunsets are just fantastic, there really is something about an African sunset, especially one viewed from a luxurious houseboat on one of Botswana’s most impressive rivers.
