1 review for Santorini – Vilanculos, Mozambique

  1. Alessandra Azevedo van Dyk

I loved, loved, loved this luxury escape in Mozambique. It was true luxury in the most relaxing setting, and I couldn’t have possibly wanted for more. The cool whites and blues that are typical of Greece’s Santorini island fit in perfectly in this blissful tropical paradise. The style is very simple and clean which provides a wonderful feeling of calm and timelessness. The style is more rustic chic than glitzy opulence but that matches perfectly with the beach village feel. The luxury is pure without being overwhelming, I felt so comfortable and at home, I even felt free enough to walk around barefoot. The food was delicious with amazing fresh ingredients and the Portuguese wine that they served was wonderful. Guests dine in various locations and it’s lovely to be surprised by breakfast on the beach or dinner set up by the spa. These different dining locations provide fantastic privacy. Actually, there are lots of little surprises throughout your stay that make it really special and personal. The staff were incredibly attentive and anticipated my every need but were also discreet and unobtrusive. The location is fantastic as it is easily accessible (via a flight to Vilanculos) but at the same time incredibly remote, if you drive for just a bit then you have the whole beach to yourself. The elevated position of the boutique hotel provides amazing views of the beach and ocean. The water here is beautifully blue and wonderfully warm. We had a full-day catamaran trip to Benguerra and the Bazaruto Archipelago which was amazing. It’s definitely a place I want to return to as many times as possible. A great addition to the end of your safari, for some sublime relaxation in a tropical paradise.
