The peaceful and charming Hippo Lodge is situated along the Kafue River in Zambia’s Kafue National Park, a 4 hour drive from Lusaka or a 1.5 hour flight from Lusaka International Airport. The road from Lusaka is accessible all year round. All accommodations are uniquely designed and have beautiful views over the Kafue River and the surroundings. To be authentic African, the accommodations don’t have electric lights. All rooms are softly lit by paraffin lamps at night. Solar power is available in the main lodge and bar area, for recharging batteries. All accommodation is provided with hot water from wood-fired boilers.
