Highlights of the Botswana Safari Escape
Hwange National Park Zimbabwe
Covering more than 14000 square kilometers this is Zimbabwe’s largest national park. Hwange National Park is an hour or two south of Victoria Falls depending on which entry gate you use or camp you will be staying at. So its easily accessible from Vic Falls and is a must-see when you are on safari to Zimbabwe. With over 400 bird species and more than a hundred mammals Hwange National Park provides some of the best wildlife viewing in Africa. During the dry season from July to October animals concentrate around the waterholes and pans, so this is the best time to visit.
Moremi National Park Botswana
The central and eastern parts of the Okavango Delta are protected by the Moremi Game Reserve. This includes not only the waterways but also the drier regions so there’s a great diversity of wildlife and over 500 species of birds. No safari in Botswana is complete without a trip to Moremi as it has been described as one of the most beautiful wildlife reserves in Africa With the reintroduction of white rhino its once again a big five reserve.
The Okavango Delta
This vast and varied ecosystem of the Okavango Delta is a well known Botswana wildlife and safari destination. The Okavango River flows into the Kalahari Desert and creates a myriad of waterways home to some of Africa’s most endangered wildlife and birds. We explore the natural majesty of the Delta by boat and vehicle on this leg of your Botswana and Zimbabwe safari.
Chobe National Park Botswana
Chobe National Park is famous for its big herds of buffalo and its massive elephant population. This is an up close and inspiring safari destination in Botswana and you will enjoy to the full on safari, especially as it has some of the highest game densities in Africa. Chobe is especially well known for the beautiful remote Savuti region, which we visit as part of this Chobe safari package.
The mighty Victoria Falls
Statistically speaking the Victoria Falls is the largest waterfall in the world and is also known as one of the seven wonders of the world!
