Antananarivo – Also known by its shortened name, Tana, this is the capital and largest city of Madagascar. The streets are lined with museums, palaces, and colonial architecture as well as a number of bustling markets and local eateries.
Andasibe Nature Reserve – The Andasibe-Mantadia corridor is situated in the foothills of eastern Madagascar. Its conservancy is filled to the brim with untouched rainforests and natural beauty and is home to a variety of endemic wildlife such as lemurs, chameleons and birds.
V.O.I.M.M.A. Community Reserve – The reserve’s abbreviated name means Vondron’olona miaro mitia ala which in English, translates to “Local People Love the Forest”. Founded by the local villagers as an alternative to the government-run national park, serving not only a recreational purpose but as a means of educating the local people about ecotourism and conservation.
Ambohimanga King’s Palace – This UNESCO World Heritage Site is home to important palaces and sacred sites dating back to the 17th and 19th centuries, and still to this day remains a place of worship and high spiritual significance. The Royal Hill of Ambohimanga is the highest and most revered of the 12 hills surrounding the capital city and is regarded as the embodiment of the Malagasy cultural identity.
