They say a picture says a thousand words, but sometimes, when the picture is Photoshopped then that thousand words can say a little bit more than what it really should. This however is not the case with Tsara Komba lodge, for as the boat transfer brings you and your luggage into view of the amazing resort, you begin to wonder if any Photoshop technique could do it justice.
Situated on the Island of Nosy Komba (Part of the Madagascan Islands, and famously known as ‘Lemur Island’ for its unbelievable Lemur population), this little piece of heaven is a relaxation paradise. As you lie on the deck and close your eyes, all you can hear is the waves crashing against the sand, and the sound of the fisherman making their way to and from the village.
From a practical perspective, the lodge rooms are rather large, extremely clean and pure as everything is natural. If you want a bit of privacy and a great view, than take one of the upper rooms. But, if you have kids and want an easier access to the beach then perhaps spend some time in the lower rooms.
The staff are in many senses what make your stay. Marsys the lodge manager is wonderful and stories have been told of how she goes out of her way for clients. One such story was of how she nursed a sick client back to health and made sure the best medications were delivered timeously. Yet she never overstayed her welcome, checking in regularly to see if he was ok. The cook is an exceptionally talented gentleman whose love for food has often had him make meals for guests that were above and beyond what was on the menu, just so that they can try out one of his other specialties. Each lunch time has a choice of two 5 star meals, complete with breakfast and dinner.
All of this screams a relaxing holiday; however, the cherry on the top for a place like this is the activities. After all, true relaxation can not only be from lying down all day, one needs to be a little active. There are sunset cruises, village tours, snorkelling, fishing and beautiful walking safaris through the lemur filled island.
All in all this is one amazing holiday, one I’d recommend to anyone looking for a beautiful place to let go and recharge. If you are interested in finding out more about this amazing place or you would like to book accommodation here, I’d recommend you follow this link.
