Day 1: Livingstone
On arrival at the Airport in Livingstone, you will be met and transferred to your lodge. Referred to as the tourist heart of Zambia, Livingstone offers an appealing combination of colonial character, African charm and incredible scenery. We will stay at the Sindabenzi Island which boasts magnificent views over the Zambezi River. Meet your guide and the rest of the group at the lodge, before embarking on a cruise up the river to enjoy sundowners and the magnificent sunset in the late afternoon.
Day 2: Livingstone
Today you have the option of taking a guided tour of the mighty Victoria Falls and have the rest of the afternoon at your leisure to explore the town or participate in the various optional activities available.
Day 3: South Luangwa
Rise & shine! After breakfast you will enjoy a morning activity, then you will depart to the airport where you will embark on a flight to Lusaka. Lusaka is Zambia’s busiest capital and largest city with around 3 million inhabitants. When you arrive you will be transferred from the airport to your hotel where you will have the afternoon at leisure to have a massage and unwind or with the city centre just 20 minutes away, you could explore all that Lusaka has to offer.
Day 4: South Luangwa
This morning you will have an air transfer to Mfuwe, where you will be met by a guide after breakfast. The afternoon is spent on a game drive in Luangwa National Park, in Eastern Zambia, which was founded in 1938 and became a National Park in 1972 and now covers 9,050 km2. It is known for its abundant wildlife. Inside the Mfuwe Gate entrance, the river is often crowded with hippos and the area has a high concentration of bird species. In the evening, spotlights are used to locate the leopard population.
Day 5: South Luangwa
Wake up to the rising sun and wildlife in the nearby surrounds; as you venture on a morning game drive after breakfast, stop to relax and take everything in then enjoy a well-deserved lunch; followed by an afternoon game drive activity. The rest of the day you can enjoy leisure.
Day 6: South Luangwa
Today is spent on a day and night game drive, walking safaris and cultural visits. Visit the cultural village of Kwaza and learn more about the Kundu culture of the inhabitants in the area. The Kwaza Village has warm and friendly people, who often see tourists but still maintain their authenticity and lifestyle. Get a first-hand experience of their traditional mud huts, visit the local school or pay respect to the village chief and local traditional healer.
Day 7: Lower Zambezi Valley
This morning bid farewell to the wild animals of South Luangwa National Park. We then take a flight From Mfuwe to ‘’Royal’’ towards the Lower Zambezi Valley, which is abundant with reed islands, hippo, buffalo, elephant and over 350 bird species. On arrival at the airport, you will be met and transferred to your accommodation. To help you settle in, we embark on an afternoon game drive and introduce you to the wildlife that Chongwe River Camp has to offer.
Day 8: Lower Zambezi Valley
We have the opportunity to spend the day on game drives. We will explore the Lower Zambezi area on morning and afternoon game drives hopefully spotting a variety of game that is frequent this region. This large area is renowned for its concentration of mammals and it is not unusual to see many different types of wildlife during just one game drive. Enjoy walking safaris, cultural visits, boat cruises and canoeing as you explore the rest of the Zambezi Valley.
Day 9: Lower Zambezi Valley
Start your morning with breakfast, as you know it’s the most important meal of the day. Thereafter you can choose to do some of the various activities that the Lower Zambezi Valley area has to offer. Relax and enjoy your last few moments as you overlook the Zambezi River from the comfort of your home. Make sure you have spectacular photographs of the animals as you will be departing the next day.
Day 10: Tour ends in Livingstone
Enjoy your last breakfast at Camp before your drive back to the airport, where you will embark on your onward journey. We hope to welcome you on one of our African adventures again soon.
