We have had a fantastic trip. Totally fell in love with Africa and the people! (always knew I would ) Jenman are a superb company so would highly recommend them to any of your customers. Our guide Melvan, and driver Lucky were just the best. They were very informative, always happy to help, kept us all safe and got us through border controls very swiftly! So no time was lost sitting in queues!

The wildlife and scenery were stunning ( although we didn’t see any big cats, but that’s wildlife for you) the animals we did see we’re amazing! Rob and I just appreciate what ever we get to see and are always grateful. We had very close encounters with elephants, hippos, crocs, giraffe, buffalo, zebra, impala, to name but a few.

We have got so many memories it is hard to choose which would be the best. We both loved the Bedouin camp, just felt so good to be so close to nature. All the accommodation was excellent, a real good mix.

We just completed a tour with Jenman African Safaris from August 27th to September 11, 2014. This tour was the Botswana Wildlife Breakaway adventure and was booked with Eyes on Africa.

Our Guide was Aaron Murambiza and Our Driver was Ishmael Samuponda and they were absolutely sensational in every way; and this feeling was unanimous among the 11 participants in our group. We travel extensively throughout the world and Aaron and Ishmael were, by far, one of the best teams that we have encountered. Aaron made everything work as planned and Ishmael’s driving skills kept us very safe at all times. They responded to our every need, including a last minute itinerary change that they handled totally to our satisfaction. Their professionalism, knowledge, ethics, morals, family values and personality far exceeded anything that we could have expected. One of the main things that they provided was a continual upbeat attitude and environment that kept all of us amused and at ease. Their laughter was very contagious.

Overall, our Jenman experience was perfect. Not one thing went wrong and we extend you our sincere appreciation for providing an outstanding holiday excursion for us.

We also would like to extend our thanks to Master, our Guide at the Bedouin Camp, who did an incredible job during our time with him. In addition, the entire staff at the Bedouin Camp were wonderful and really made us feel at home.

We have safely arrived in Slovenia and we are now in Ljubljana after beautiful trip to South Africa. Besides the first transfer and cancelled shark dive tour, which was cancelled due to bad weather all was perfect. Boris regrets cancelled shark diving because he is a passionate diver. We really enjoyed this Jenman trip to South Africa – the beautiful Cape Town, the interesting Kapama Game Reserve with the big 5 and the magnificent Victoria Falls. At the Victoria Falls we met a Swedish couple who was very satisfied with the Jenman Botswana Wildlife Breakaway safari. Which made us start to think about that one…
    We have one question.
    Thanks again for wonderful trip,
    With best regards,
    Boris and Marjetka

We had an awesome time and loved every minute of it. The guide and driver were excellent – knowledgeable, friendly, flexible and had a great sense of humour – they needed it as we were all Aussies!!!! Never before had they had an all Aussie group!
The vehicle and accommodations were great and the places visited allowed us to see most of the animals on offer in the area. We didn’t see cheetahs or hyenas but we did see 3 leopards!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 2 in one day. Conrad (our guide) said he did tours for 12 months before he saw his first one. There was a 4th one (unseen) at the Khwai camp – you could hear it in the bushes just out of sight and see it’s footprints around the tents in the morning!! We also saw – Elephants, giraffe, honey badgers, antelope in a variety of shapes and sizes, baboons, huge range of birds, hippos, crocodiles, zebra, lions, mongoose, wildebeest … The list goes on…
Thanks for all your help getting this trip organised – I’d recommend it to anyone! Could have stayed for much longer – 15 days wasn’t enough!

Thanks again for everything; this journey was a unique experience that we will never forget. We would join your tours again, especially with your staff and experience.
The fascinating region, the people, the flora and fauna will long be kept alive in our memories.
You have to experience it yourself.

All the best for you and kind regards from the participants of “Botswana Wildlife Breakaway”

Barbara and I have just returned from our recent Botswana Wildlife Breakaway safari with Jenman. We want to thank you and your colleagues for everything you did to help us on the front-end – and to let you know that this ranked as one of our top tours ever. We could not find a single thing to fault – the itinerary was perfect and Jorge Ndawa was absolutely amazing.

Many thanks from us both – with best wishes, Mike

Thank you for organizing our unforgettable Botswana holiday! It wasn’t a holiday in the traditional sense of the word as we were a bit tired afterwards, but we are now relaxed. I think our next holiday will only be in a few years to South America.
All our flights worked quite well. Next time we would prefer to fly from Frankfurt because the train from Nuernberg goes directly to the Frankfurt airport.
Our first hotel, the Amadeus Garden Hotel was small, clean and the German owner had greeted us personally. Our guides joined us that evening: Grant van Zyl und Thula Manzini. They arrived with a new 12-seater Jenman tour bus directly from Cape Town!
Our group only consisted of 8 tourists which was very pleasant. If each of the 12 seats on the tour bus was full, we probably would not have endured the heat. Four people used the camping accommodation and the others used the lodges (like us). We were always excited to see how the next lodge compared – they all were very different! The first two days we slept in an open tree house at the Ivory Lodge in Zimbabwe – unusual but very nice. It also was nice to stay in the luxurious Thamalakane River Lodge with beautiful surroundings and chalets that are located next to the river and the restaurant, providing excellent steaks and breakfast. The most memorable lodge would be the Khwai Bedouin Camp where we stayed for 3 days. The shower consisted of a bucket filled with hot salt water hanging on a metal drum. We slept very well in the permanent tents and the game drives in the parks were magnificent.
The entire group was great – we cooked the food and cleaned the dishes all together. Nobody got sick, nothing happened and no one complained… which was great! Botswana’s wildlife is amazing and the people were very friendly, only at the Victoria Falls market were people a bit pushy. During the day it was very hot (30-35 degrees), but during the morning and evening game drives it was cold and we needed our fleece jackets.
Our one suggestion from our side is to include the local payment in the tour fare. In addition, it would be informative to get an indication of the tips (we spent about USD 450 on them). However we enjoyed doing so because we knew that this additional income is very much needed.

We would definitely recommend this safari.

    Elly and her family

I am explicitly thanking Jenman and Blessed for how the breakdown of the vehicle was handled. All measures possible were taken to ensure the continuation of the trip and the full execution of the program. The day it happened, we still arrived before dark at Guma Lagoon and Blessed did apologize for the inconvenience caused. I have asked Blessed to express our “thank you” to Jenman for the very nice dinner cruise on the Zambesi River on the last day as compensation. What more can one reasonably expect?

Turning to the positive side, we really enjoyed the program, there are almost too many highlights and it is difficult to pick out one. We enjoyed the beauty and diversity of all scenery on this trip: Hwange National Park, Nata Bird Sanctuary, Moremi National Park, Khwai, Okavango Delta including the mokoro excursion, Chobe National Park and the sunset cruise on the river, and Victoria Falls. Blessed is a very enthusiastic guide who truly cares about the well-being of all guests in the group. He is a very sensitive person and checked in regularly if everything was OK. He is also a very good cook and is knowledgeable about the countries and the sites visited. In the evenings he gave good briefings about the program of the following day. He has a good sense of humor and his smiles are contagious. All drivers we have seen, Justin, Tula and Fletcher were very professional, polite and helpful and kept the vehicles clean at all times. We really enjoyed their contacts and friendly attitude. A special word of praise is for Sage Boitumelu, the guide who was with us for 3 days for the visits in Khwai, Moremi and Chobe. He impressed us as extremely dedicated, professional and knowledgeable; he was also very approachable. We would go back to Botswana with him as guide without any hesitation. We enjoyed having him around for a couple more days as he brought us to Guma Lagoon after the vehicle had broken down.

Even if the Tsodilo hills are a UNESCO world heritage site and very interesting to visit, we felt that the time and efforts to get there were high. I think it forced us to go through Namibia and the Caprivi Strip to get back to Chobe, quite long distances and two days consumed by travelling. We would have preferred to spend more time in the national parks in Botswana or include Central Kalahari or/and more of Makgadikgadi in the program.

I will conclude with the very positive summary I started this e-mail with: “absolutely fantastic and enjoyable, highly recommendable, we want to go back”.

Paul, thank you for your very professional attitude and timely responses to all our questions before the trip, thank you to Jenman and all the guides and drivers we met. It was an unforgettable experience that has made my children and I fall even more in love with Africa’s scenery and its people.

The first safari Botswana Untamed started from our hotel which was close to the airport at Johannesburg. We were escorted by the team leader/cook and driven all day by courier transport just into Botswana at our first game reserve area. This camp on the Limpopo River was very nice and we were offered an afternoon game drive which would have been with our Botswana driver who would be with us until we got to the Zimbabwean border crossing some 10 days later. However as we had only just arrived after a long drive so we opted for the next morning to do it but it was really a drive through parks to get us to our next destination at Rhino Sanctuary.
The rest of the trip was excellent as the guide Ntando and driver Bman were good company as well as organisers. The food was varied and all of us suffered no health problems. The accusation was also very good for what we paid for and we all liked the Bedouin camp as it was so peaceful yet very basic. Chobe Safari Lodge was at the other end of the scale in comfort and was appreciated after the long bouncy trip from the Bedouin camp…
The next Safari was Botswana Breakaway.
This trip was led by Charles who I had met about a week earlier at Thamalakane River Lodge and part way through the Botswana Breakaway. He was a wonderful leader and cook and sometimes went above what we thought was needed to give us remarkable meals. One time we would have been happy with breakfast cereals for the evening meal as we came in late but no he wanted to make sure we were fed to his standards.

I think with 15 weeks of tours in Africa now I have had enough experience to be able to make a considered judgement and would always recommend Jenmans as the preferred organisers.

Hi Ray, thank you for your wonderful comment. We are so glad you enjoyed your experience travelling with us. We do love to hear it when guests have a wonderful trip. We are sorry to hear that you did not get the game drive you were hoping for near the Limpopo river and are hoping that you saw enough game on the drive to Rhino Sanctuary. Though I have informed our product team of what you said above. It’s also wonderful that our staff went out of their way for you, this is something that is required of them and we are ecstatic that it is paying off.

    Birgit and Jörg von Styp-Rekowsky

Our holiday in Botswana from 2 to 18 November 2015 was – without surprise – another fantastic experience! Although it was really hot this time, we gained many exciting experiences mainly with elephants.

According to the information received before the trip, we were supposed to bring towels along because some accommodations may not provide these. But that wasn’t necessary at all as there were always towels available!

Of course all lodges and tented camps were good but I would especially like to mention two.

Sable Sands Lodge is really great. Although electricity was restricted and hot water was only available with the wood stove, it was exactly these experiences that made it great. And the owners – especially Marleen – were very kind. If you were lucky, like we were, you get a “villa” overlooking the waterhole. Then you can understand why we didn’t want to leave. Since we were at the lodge at the beginning of the trip, we would have liked to have stayed there for the entire two weeks.

The Hyena Pan Tented Camp (called Khwai Bedouin Camp in your description) is also great. Even though the journey was very hot, very dusty and very long – it was definitely worth it. The camp also has a waterhole but surprisingly with saltwater! It was surprising that even the tab water was saltwater. We had to get used to it especially when washing hair but basically it’s not a problem.
However, it’s useful to have a flashlight for the way into the tent!

Since our trip was just before the rainy season a lot game came to the waterholes and we enjoyed a fantastic wildlife viewing!

    Dear Team Jenman,

My friend Viv and I toured across Botswana and into Zim with your company in December. We had an amazing trip and were really happy with our safari.

We especially wanted to write to you to tell you just how wonderful our guides, Jonathan Dube and Rex Sanyedi were. They were attentive, enthusiastic, knowledgeable and we cannot have imagined the trip without them.

So, to keep this short, we have very happy memories of our safari and thrilled to have met such considerate and humorous human beings; nicer gentlemen you could not meet.

We are hoping to come back to Africa mid 2017 and look forward to planning that trip with your company.

    Yours sincerely,
    Craig & Viv

    Chris and Jane Carr

Jane and I had the best holiday ever starting with our night on arrival in Johannesburg and the excellent hotel the Emperors Palace, our arrival at Victoria Falls and being met by our guide Biggie and driver Tam was superb and the transport to the A’Zambezi River lodge was well organised. We spent the afternoon going to the Vic Falls bridge and out to dinner at the Boma which was excellent and possibly should be included in the tour in future.

We went with white water rafting with Shockwave the next morning and had a very good and exciting time and were very well hosted by the crew lunch at the top of the gorge was very welcome and excellent and we had a fantastic time .

Our stay at the Elephants Eye was incredible with the 50 or so elephants coming to the salt lick and to the pool in the evenings a sight to behold and our excellent spacious accomodation with the outdoor shower overlooking the water hole with the game so close beyond description.
The game drives to the Hwange game reserve produced a female cheeta and 5 cubs only a few feet away from the vehicle.

Our stay at the Kwai Bedouin camp was a real highlight and we had elephant within a few feet of our tent, eating the camel thorn are seeds which they shook down from the trees, a incredible experience as well as a pack of wild dog and numerous puppies playing at a den and a leopard and and number of prides of lions.
Chobie Lodge was amazing and the Elephants swimming to the island during the sunset cruise for the Chobie river

We had and excellent tour group and we all got on extremely well and we made very good friends with them all.

I cannot speak more highly of Biggie who deserves the tour guide of the year award and Tam our driver.

The rest of the trip was amazing and Jane and I have come back from our trip relaxed and telling everyone about the experiences.

I must take this opportunity to thank you again and we will definitely be planning to do a safari in Kenya through Bench ,2017 to see the annual migration.

    kind regards,

    Yours sincerely,

    Chris and Jane Carr.

Our 9 day Botswana Untouched Lodge Safari (6 Aug. – 14 Aug.2016) was an experience of a lifetime! Lucky & Rex were informative, caring, & fun. We saw SO many animals!!! From Moremi to Khwai River to Okavango Delta to Chobe & ending in Vic.Falls. All the accommodations were fine. Being a vegetarian was no problem at all. The only thing was the TERRIBLE 12-seater vehicle. It had no suspension. We couldn’t hear Lucky speak unless we were fortunate enough to sit near the front. We only know how awful the vehicle was because we joined this group, & for their 1st 4 days, they had a great vehicle. We also recommend you fly guests from Khwai River to Chobe (like you do for other groups). The 11 hour drive is treacherous & there’s not much to see. Besides that, this was a once in a lifetime adventure!!! We highly recommend it. The African people are welcoming, kind, and helpful.
