Madagascar has always been a place that has fascinated and enthralled the JENMAN team and so it was a wonderful experience to be able to share our passion with Travel Agents from all over Cape Town, Paarl and Somerset West. It was super to meet new faces and catch up with colleagues not seen for a while…
Air Madagascar, as our preferred supplier, sent both Mariska and Annelie to join us for the afternoon and we were honoured to have them as special guests. Not only that, but Air Madagascar generously made it possible for one of the workshop attendees (& partner) to visit Nosy Be and experience the magic of Madagascar!
Together with the Vanilla Hotel and Sakatia Lodge, we were able to provide a wonderful prize which included accommodation for 2, an excursion for 2, as well as scuba diving, which was generously sponsored by Sakalav and Sakatia Dive Centres.
The workshop took place on afternoon of the 23rd August and was well attended, despite the rain and wind so typical of this time of year. In fact it made me long for Madagascar’s sunny skies and clear blue (not to mention warm) seas… We were honoured to have the opening address by the Consul General, who attended the workshop as our special guest.
Rebecca Marshall, the JENMAN African Safaris product manager for Madagascar, presented Northern Madagascar and Nosy Be, Johan Pfahl covered the Central Highlands and Eastern Madagascar, while Garth Jenman, gave us a presentation on fishing and yacht charters off Nosy Be.
After a short break for tea, Katja Quasdorf, our marketing manager told us about Southern and Western Madagascar and her experiences there. We ended the workshop with a look at scuba diving and snorkelling opportunities:– great feedback has been given to us by numerous South African divers, myself among them!
By attending the workshop and learning more about this amazing country, attendees were eligible to enter the draw for the fantastic prize. Three names were drawn and the first person to answer 3 questions correctly was named the winner. Our winner was Mandy McEvoy of Club Travel!
