They always say, “Charity begins at home”. That’s exactly why the staff at Jenman Safaris decided to collect goods for a local pro-life animal rescue group in Hout Bay, Cape Town. Our HR Manager, Antoinette, delivered the donated goods (food, towels, blankets etc.) on Sunday, 16 January 2011 and it was received by extremely grateful volunteers! The Domestic Animal Rescue Group or DARG, for short, rescues all sorts of animals who are abused or unwanted.
They nurture them back to health and try to find all of the animals’ new homes. This is done through an adoption process and prospective owners are carefully screened to ensure that all new pets find stable and secure homes. Various animals call the DARG centre home; cats, dogs, donkeys, birds and even rabbits!
As you can believe, we all felt very passionate about this organization and were more then happy to help!
DARG welcomes members of the public to come and volunteer at their centre in Main Road, Hout Bay. The dogs enjoy going on ‘walkies’ and all the animals enjoy some love and attention. Donations are also much needed and you can view the DARG’s wish list on their website www.darg.org.za
