Mlilwane Rest Camp is situated in Swaziland’s Ezulwini Valley, known as ‘the valley of heavens.’ The
camp is located in the southeastern corner of the Milwane Wildlife Sanctuary and has been built in
the midst of a well-matured rehabilitated area with tall indigenous trees, all grown from seed after
numerous fires caused by lightning strikes, after which the Sanctuary is named. Hippopotamus,
crocodile and a variety of water birds including visiting fish eagles can be found on the artificially
created wetlands area, which the camp overlooks. The camp has no fences, allowing for wildlife to
wander in and out. Warning is given to camp patrons to be aware of hippo roaming during the
evenings, though this has not been a major concern during the camp’s 40-year history. There is a
tranquil and relaxing feel in the camp with a continual stream of human tolerant animals such as
impala, warthog and nyala, walking between the facilities.
Mlilwane’s Rest Camp features a wide variety of accommodation for every budget and includes
