A beach lovers paradise. Starting in Nosy Be, this beach package takes you to the island of Nosy Komba where you can explore it at your own pace, discovering the unique wildlife, beautiful beaches and turquoise waters.

Tour Highlights:

Nosy Be – Nosy Be, the largest island of the Nosy Be Archipelago, is surrounded by several nearby islands which include Nosy Komba, Nosy Tanikely, Nosy Sakatia and Nosy Mitsio. It is known as the Perfume Island as the air is scented with the ylang-ylang and vanilla that grow there. The island offers excellent fishing and diving opportunities as well as a natural lemur reserve and a resort-style atmosphere. Here the pace of life is as slow and drawn out as the island’s magnificent sunsets.

Nosy Komba – Nosy Komba is a volcanic island off the north-west coast of Madagascar, lying between Nosy Be and the main island. In English, it has been nicknamed lemur island. It is a popular holiday destination.

Tsara Komba –  Situated on the eastern side of Nosy Komba, this 8 roomed, luxury lodge is an ideal getaway for the discerning visitor. Built above its own private beach amongst stunning gardens and with wonderful views, the hotel is an ideal base from which to explore the island, dive, fish, snorkel or simply relax.

A 4WD vehicle is used during this tour.

Spending Money:

Clients are advised to bring enough money to cover their lunches and dinners, the purchase of curios and additional entertainment. Madagascar’s currency is the Ariary. Euros are the most practical and convenient currency to exchange into the local currency at the Airport. International credit cards and travellers’ cheques are very seldom accepted, although VISA cards are accepted at the Vanilla hotel.

A visa is required to enter the territory of Madagascar and can easily be obtained upon arrival at the airport of Antananarivo with a validity of up to 90 days. Tourists staying for less than one month can purchase a visa for 115’000 Ariary (around 35 €). Paying with the exact amounts or small currency is advised. No photographs are required, however, please ensure that passports are valid for at least 6 months after return date.

Travel Insurance:

Please note that travel and cancellation insurance is mandatory for every guest travelling with Jenman Madagascar Safaris. All insurance is solely the responsibility of our guests. Please ensure you arrange your own insurance with protection for the full duration of your journey to cover personal injury, damage and loss of personal items including but not limited to camera equipment and other electronic items, medical expenses, repatriation expenses and loss of luggage, etc. Please speak to your travel agent if you require assistance.

If you feel you have been looked after well by your crew or guides, and you wish to show your appreciation for their services, a monetary tip is very welcomed by those in Madagascar. Here follow some suggested guidelines:

  • Around EUR 4 per person, per day (10,000 Ariary) for a guide or a guide/driver.
  • Around EUR 2 (5,000 Ariary) for a park guide, depending on your satisfaction.
  • Around 5% of the bill at a restaurant.
  • 200 Ariary per bag for a porter.

As Euro coins cannot be changed into local money in Madagascar, it is advisable to tip in Ariary.
We would ask that you please reserve your generosity for tipping for services only, and not providing free hand-outs to children or adults, as this encourages begging.
