Explore the sand dunes of Sossusvlei, the coastal town of Swakopmund, the ancient San paintings at Spitzkoppe, and wildlife-rich Etosha National Park on this tailor-made lodge safari through some of the most dramatic landscapes in Africa.

Travel through the grand landscapes of Namibia on a tailor-made lodge safari starting and ending in Windhoek – 11 days.

Tour Highlights:

Windhoek – Namibia’s capital city is located in the central highlands of the country, and is a popular starting point for many safaris in the area. Due to its positioning within a large valley surrounded by mountains, Windhoek retains its heat all year round. The city is rich with culture, historical attractions and a host of museums.

Sossusvlei – The desert area of Sossusvlei is a salt and clay pan surrounded by its famous high red dunes – often one of the highlights of any Namibian safari. The dunes can reach heights of up to 300 metres and its age can be told by its sand colouring – the brighter red, the older the dune.

Swakopmund – One of Namibia’s coastal cities, the name Swakopmund is derived from the German language meaning ‘mouth of water’ to describe the overflow and flooding of the Swakop River. The town is well-known for its fascinating architecture and fun outdoor activities available such as sand boarding, quad biking, fishing, beach angling, diving and more.

Spitzkoppe – Namibia’s most popular and well-known mountain range dates back to over 700-million years. The dramatic peaks of Spitzkoppe are believed to have been formed by the collapse of a volcano millions of years ago, and the unusual shapes of the rocks and peaks are the result of erosion and general weather conditions. Located between different peaks, lays an area named ‘Bushmen Paradise’, where visitors can see primitive Bushman paintings.

Etosha National Park – Meaning ‘huge white area’, Etosha is mostly made up of a vast, shallow white pan that is even visible from space, and is home to an abundance of wildlife. The park features several waterholes that attract a number of game including elephants, springbok, wildebeest, rhinos, impala, lions, jackals, hyenas and more.

We make use of mid-range typical African standard lodge accommodation. Accommodation is situated either in national parks, on the banks of a river, or in other places of interest. The accommodation will be a mix of lodges, chalets and tented camps with en-suite bathrooms.
