Exploring Africa with Steve and Keith…

Exploring Africa with Steve and Keith... 14From Victoria Falls to Cape Town on Safari! Many times clients travel with us on an African Safari and make their own personal blog/website containing images and memories… Keith and Steve went on our Northern Experience Safari which took them from Victoria Falls all the way to Cape Town on a 20 day adventure. Our Northern Experience Safari is now a 22 day safari and includes a few different highlights. They went on our safari in 2004 and still speak very highly of it… even to the point that he would use Jenman on his next Africa Safari!

Please read on to read his overview of his African Safari. Or click on his ‘blog’ to see all of their fantastic safari pictures!

Exploring Africa with Steve and Keith... 15Overview: We flew to Livingstone via Jo’berg, arriving for 4 days in Zambia (Extra). We stayed at the Zambezi waterfront Lodge and campsite. The trip we chose was 20 days and we travelled around 4 thousand kilometres overall (roughly) and ended up in Cape Town. We stopped in Zambia, Botswana, Namibia and SA.  From there to Swakopmund via a visit to Cape cross seal colony, (2 days). From Swakopmund, we the left for Sesriem (2 days, including Deathvlei & Dune 45). A long journey down to Ai-Ais (1 night), via the fish river canyon. A short trip to Orange River where we canoed, (2 nights) and then onto Cape town. (We did an extra 4 day stop here, not part of the safari).First stop was Thebe camp site in Botswana (1 night). Then onto Namibia. Namibia is a big country and first stop was Manushasha (1 night), then in to the Delta (Makwena camp site, Botswana, 2 Days), back to N-kwazi (Namibia, 2 Days), over to Etosha (Nanutomi, Halali and Okaukuejo, 3 days) then to Twyfelfontein (1 night).

Who with? The Safari was with Jenman safaris, from Cape Town. Well worth booking with an established safari company if it’s your first time in Africa as they can help you get accustomed to the local and different regional customs. We found all the places very interesting and all the locals were helpful and friendly.

“Whilst in Chobe, we saw many animals. This was the second of the Big 5. The buffalo, what a fantastic sight to see.”

“This was the most spectacular scene. As we watched a distant female, Marion, one of the group could not speak fast enough as this Lion approached and sat down to cool off in the shade.”

“The largest meteorite in the world, or a bit of it anyway. Although the sun was very hot and the meteorite was mainly nickel, it was cool to the touch!”

“An early morning shot of Dune 45, (5am). The mist was just a wall around this region, nowhere else. Of course we were supposed to see the sunrise here, but well not today.”
