We are always looking for bright, driven and ambitious people to join our international team in Cape Town. Keep reading to find out more about working for Jenman – our culture, our people and how you can be successful here.
Jenman African Safaris is one of the leading safari travel operators in Southern Africa, East Africa and Madagascar. We offer scheduled or tailor-made safaris in countries from Namibia to Tanzania. We love bushy-tailed lemurs, wild-maned lions and tall giraffes.
We are a family run business based in Cape Town, South Africa. Founded in 1993, our company has grown steadily at a steady pace. We pride ourselves on organising safaris with excellent standards of service, reliability, safety, and value for money.
The travel industry is an exciting, fast-paced place to work in. If you’ve always had a love for travel, Africa and helping people experience this continent then just have a look at our openings.
We are located right in the heart of Cape Town’s southern suburbs Claremont.
We know how overwhelming the first week of starting a new job can be – and so we thought give every person who starts working at Jenman a starter pack to help navigate life at Jenman with more ease, relaxation and confidence. The pack contains relevant information about our policies, your department and other tidbits.
Our company culture is about monthly lunches, optional monthly hikes, a social committee who organise social events for us, open and approachable communication, and team outings.
The internal development and personal growth in every department is important to Jenman. Many of our staff have done training or have moved from one department to another – to learn a different skill set and stay inspired.
After a dietician and doctor came to speak to us last year, we have taken a new approach to our little kiosk. We have removed all the sugary, unhealthy snacks and replaced it with yummy, green things to buy. It now stocks: fruit juices, biltong, granola bars and fruit, among other things.
We want to change the world – even just a little bit – at work. Every Jenman employee has the chance to get involved with our eco-tourism initiative Grow Africa. Volunteer one lunch hour every two weeks and play with the awesome kids at Rosmead Primary School. Take a bunch of excited students for our educational hikes on a weekend morning. Or clean up the beach and breathe in the fresh sea air.
The people who started Jenman are still running it! They’ve got over an elephant’s lifespan of expertise and travel stories under their belt. Our employees are from all over the world so don’t be surprised when you hear Shona, German or Xhosa being spoken around the office.
