If so, the Victoria and Alfred Waterfront (V&A for short) will be hosting a couple of wonderful events for you to partake in:
1. Watershed Christmas Market for adults and children
The V&A Watershed is an upmarket warehouse filled with 150 small businesses that showcase to visitors the incredible depth and creativity the African people have. Each business is carefully selected, bringing to you only the finest in works of art, precision-made furniture, intricately crafted jewellery, rich textiles, soft furnishings, ceramics, accessories, contemporary curios and much, much more.
This year they will bring Christmas to life with a day of entertainment and activity on the 15th December 2014. There will be multiple musicians playing at different times on different stages, some even walking through the shops. Play areas for children and great cuisine will be available and there will be multiple appearances of Santa throughout the day. Make things with your hands, buy good food or something niche that you’ve always wanted! This is your chance.
2. V&A Summer Sessions
Some of South Africa’s finest musicians will take the stage of the V&A’s amphitheatre during select evenings throughout December. While you’re experiencing the great sights and sounds of the waterfront, you might want to make your way down to that amphitheatre to hear talented, and well-known names in the South African music industry. 3. Dining extravagances
The holiday season is never complete without good food. Which is why many of the V&A restaurants will be hosting niche events up until New Year’s Eve. From fabulous French cuisines, to nights of dancing and live entertainment, you will find it this December at the V&A. To view list of restaurants and what they will be hosting, click here.
