Situated 2286 m above sea level at the base of the Drakensberg’s Sentinel Peak, the Witsieshoek Mountain Lodge is the highest lodge in the Northern Drakensberg. This very unique lodge has one of the most spectacular views in Southern Africa and it is the perfect getaway for outdoor enthusiasts, hikers, mountain bikers, trout fisherman and families. Climb the steep Sentinel Peak using its well known chain ladders to reach the mountain top and navigate across the plateau as far as Lesotho or simply enjoy a relaxing social evening with great company in the pub of the cosy and hospitable Witsieshoek Mountain Lodge.
The Lodge is a made up of comfortable 2 bedroom bungalows and 1 bedroom chalets. All bedding and towels are provided and heaters are available as evenings on the mountain can get chilly.
The bungalows are circular buildings, with three units per building. Each unit comprises two bedrooms, which share a bathroom. The bungalows are the older buildings in the complex and have a more rustic feel that the chalets. Each unit has a different stunning view.
The cosy face-brick chalets are each equipped with a single bedroom with a double bed, and an en-suite bathroom (with bath). They all have a magnificent view, overlooking the Drakensberg Amphitheatre.
