Stevensford Game Reserve

Situated on the Limpopo River in Botswana’s Tuli Block, Stevensford is a 3500 ha private nature conservancy. The reserve is not only home to many species, including giraffe, zebra, eland, waterbuck, kudu, gemsbok, blue wildebeest, bushbuck, red hartebeest, impala, steenbok, duiker, aardwolf, aardvark, brown hyena, warthog, crocodile and hippopotamus but also a working game farm. In addition there are occasional sightings of leopard, cheetah, bat-eared foxes and bushpig. Stevensford is a paradise for birders as birdlife is abundant and diverse. The Reserve offers an escape for individual and family alike, to enjoy a rare bush experience as well as safe and close contact with wildlife. The opportunity to revive your soul in this pristine African ancestral environment is unique – sunset over the Limpopo River and freedom in the wilds, unaltered throughout the ages. You can either cook out at the leisure in your equipped and serviced private lapa or enjoy the luxury of a fully catered stay.

Stevensford Game Reserve has a large shady campsite and cottages. The campsite is situated on the banks of the Limpopo which accomodates up to six four man tents around a centralized fire area with a non-flush toilet and Bush shower. Drinking water and firewood can be provided. The cottages are located within private but small camps and all bedrooms have en-suite showers and premium quality beds with fine white cotton bedlinen and towels, ceiling fans and mosquito nets. Each camp has a private boma, fully equipped (with crockery, cutlery, pots and pans) for indoor and outdoor cooking on gas or on fire, and dining. Cooking and dining areas are under thatch and outdoor. Wood fires are lit for guests in the centre of paved or screeded patios, ideal for al fresco meals and stargazing evenings. Unobtrusive attention to high standards ensure our guests’ maximum comfort in privacy, and the seldom opportunity to enjoy the freedom of the wilderness to the fullest.
