Find the famous wildebeest migration; Tanzania or Kenya, where are they?
One would think that finding hundreds of thousands of wildebeest wouldn't be too hard... but, sometimes you can sit for days and see nothing! It's all about making sure you have the right information - where they were last seen, where they usually cross rivers - and, of course, a lot of luck!
September is the month where the wildebeest have moved across the border into the Maasai Mara and they are on their way back to cross the border into Tanzania again. According to our recent spotting's they are on course and with some luck you should see them in the Masai Mara near the centre of the park (or even closer to the border)... Let the adventure begin!
As you know we have some great 2012 East Africa safari options for you ranging from camping to accommodated safaris! If you are looking for a safari that spends the most time in the Serengeti and the Maasia Mara - to increase your wildebeest spotting chances - then we recommend our (aptly named) East Africa Migration Explorer! Priced from EUR 2680 / USD 3350 including 7 nights in fixed accommodation and 6 nights camping. Explore the very best of Kenya and Tanzania... and hopefully even see the famous and world-renowned wildebeest migration!
Email us to find out when you should go if you want to see the migration or if you would like more information on East Africa.
*This tour is also available as a fully accommodated option!
Botswana Untouched - 5th October, what are you waiting for?
Our Botswana Untouched Safari is a 12-day Botswana safari delight! And I am not just saying that... I was given the opportunity to go on any of our safaris as part of an educational experience, after working on the websites for so many years I knew I had to go to Botswana! And with the awesome highlights that our Botswana Untouched offers: Tuli Block, Khama Rhino Sanctuary, Makgadikgadi Pans, Moremi, Okavango Delta, Chobe National Park, our Khwai Bedioun Camp (!!) and more... What more could I want?!

I literally returned the other day (6th September) and I am at a loss for words...Botswana is beyond amazing, I was lucky enough to see the Big 5 within my first few days! My guide, Nthando, was extremely helpful and cooked the most amazing meals while we were out in the bush. My highlight was our Khwai Bedouin Tent - I could have stayed there for weeks... And Victoria Falls is exactly like the pictures! I can't compare this to our Botswana Wildlife Breakaway safari as I haven't done that routing yet but, in my opinion this should be our best seller! Keep an eye on our blog (http://africasafariblog.com) for my safari feature (coming soon!).
So, I have to ask the obvious ... What are you waiting for? This tour is priced from USD 1955 / EUR 1395 per person and is really a trip of a lifetime. As a client recently said "it's like floating on an African cloud". Email us on info@jenmansafaris.com to secure your seat!

Botswana Wildlife Breakaway gets even better for 2012
Our most popular safari, our 14-day Botswana Wildlife Breakaway, is going to be slightly different for 2012. After some great suggestions from our clients, agents and staff we have decided to change the routing so that our long travel days are broken up…. Instead of having long travel days in a row we will now have a long travel day followed by a short travel day with lots of relaxing!
For 2012 we will be travelling from Elephant Sands to Maun for 1 night, then to our popular Khwai Bedouin Camp for 2 nights, then straight to Guma Lagoon….

To assist us in providing you with the best options for your clients in the fastest time, there are some important questions you can ask your clients during the first contact stage. This will in turn better your chance of converting the enquiry as you will have a more detailed suggestion to provide them with.
Please remember that we offer some great group tour itineraries, or we can tailor make itineraries according to your client’s needs, timeframe & budget.
Questions to ask your clients to ensure the perfect holiday:
- Lead pax name - first & surname.
- Number of adults & children (with ages) wishing to travel.
- Requirements for room configuration (Single/twin/triple or double occupancy).
- Date & location of arrival & departure.
- Preference for private tour or group tour? (bear in mind private tour is more expensive)
- Accommodation: What is their required standard?
- What are their key interests in the destination they wish to travel to?
- Approximate budget per person for land arrangements.
By providing us with this critical information at first contact, we can clearly see what the clients are interested in, and can make much better informed & faster suggestions to you - our valued agent. In turn this should give you faster & more detailed results to your clients, therefore preventing them from shopping around.
Meet Olivia: too cool to join our Jenman Band?
Not that we have a real band but, still... Each month we discover another Jenman staff member that has some secret musical talent - guitar players, singing, song writers... you name it! And we have found another one; maybe we really should start a band?
"My hidden(literally) talent would be that I use to be part of a Jazz Band & Wind Band Orchestra, which I would secretly attend after school as to not cramp my too cool for school image ;) ... the band camp jokes never get old hahaha” Olivia confessed to us! Sadly for her the band jokes are all about to begin!
But on another note Olivia (also known as Olive) has been with Jenman Safaris as our Operations and Administrative Assistant for one year this month! Congratulations Olivia!
"When I am not at work (which is very rare during our high season) you will often find me "restaurant hopping" in & around Cape Town, or looking for the next wine tasting expo! My most recent found gem is The Chart Farm in Wynberg - you can enjoy fresh home-made scones, jams & cakes whilst looking onto beautiful rose fields (they also offer rose picking ,which is a stunning experience)."
When we asked Olivia where her next holiday would be this is what she said; "If you had asked me a few months ago I would have said Zimbabwe - Victoria Falls , but Jenman has already granted me my wish and I visited it in April this year for my educational - what an amazing experience! Next on my list is definitely Madagascar - the islands' blue water and white sand looks amazing! ... I have my piggy bank ready to start saving..."

- African Bush Camps - Opening of two new airstrips to our Zimbabwe Camps
Manga airstrip approved earlier this week, is our newest landing strip in the heart of Hwange national park which has been rated by The Civil Aviation Inspector as "the best bush landing airstrip in Zimbabwe". Dandawa airstrip in Mana Pools services our Kanga Camp and has now been operating over the last couple of months. It is less than 30 minutes from Kanga Camp and incorporates a beautiful and scenic drive through the Ruckomechi River and Chivava which form the western boundary of our private concession in this remote and stunning piece of our own private Africa.
