Re-Discover Zimbabwe in a new way for 2012!
Due to the great responses and fantastic feedback we received from our Intimate Zimbabwe Safari, we decided to use the best highlights from that safari for our Re-Discover Zimbabwe Adventure - making it that much more fantastic for 2012...
Our Re-Discover Zimbabwe Adventure will now begin in Mana Pools, and incorporate 3 nights in this unspoilt park giving you and your clients the opportunity to experience game drives, bush walks and canoe excursions... all whilst getting up close and personal with the wildlife. We will then move inland to Antelope Park which is home to the African Lion Environmental Research Trust (ALERT) where you have the chance to partake in numerous activities involving these majestic creatures. No itinerary to Zimbabwe would be complete without a visit to the Great Zimbabwe Ruins, a fantastic place to learn about the culture of the country and the mighty empire that once ruled. We will continue west to the Matobo Hills, an area steeped in ancient mystery and exquisite beauty before spending two nights at the popular Hwange National Park for a last chance at spotting the big 5. Our tour ends in Victoria Falls, the adventure capital of Southern Africa, where we take you on a guided tour of one of the seven natural wonders of the world - the Victoria Falls!
With so much to do in this little town you may want to extend your stay by a day or two to experience the beautiful sunsets that synonymise with Africa! Click here to read more or email us on info@jenmansafaris.com to find out when our next departure is!
For 2012 we have also introduced a fully accommodated version! Please note that for 2012 this tour (all versions) will be a 12-day safari instead of a 15-day safari...

Cape Town Outdoor Expo 2011
The Cape Outdoor and Adventure Expo, in Cape Town, is hosted annually and is when companies all flock together to show off their best outdoor and adventure options to adventure-enthusiasts... this year we decided to give it a go! Our main goal was to launch our new adventure packages for East Africa as well as to "introduce" potential clients to the wonders of Madagascar... what a great show it turned out to be... so much so, that we even won a Bronze Award for our stand!
Another great aspect to our stand was that we ran an exciting competitio nand the prize was a trip to the Serengeti and Zanzibar for 2 guests! Well done to James Peverley who won this awesome trip. Needless to say he is beyond ecstatic and some of us in the office are very jealous...
Below is a snippet from a blog that Debby our Local Sales and Marketing Representative wrote about the Expo. A very special "thanks" to Debby who organised this event for us... the responses that we have received already have been out of this world!
"The Cape Outdoor Expo 2011 proved to be a good starting point for connecting with the local South African market and getting a feel for the response to our Madagascar and East African tours and safaris. Quite frankly, it was amazing to see how many South Africans would love to experience more of this incredible continent. . The show itself had a start with the setting up on Thursday. This proved to be rather tricky due to the strong wind and we certainly needed Johan, Never and Mucha's help to put up the flapping tent! We eventually got it sorted and Celia and I set about arranging the furniture and getting ready for the next day..."

Migration Update for November!
Due to the unusual early arrival of the rain in Northern Serengeti the mega herd is currently moving into the Lobo area of the Serengeti. Early in the season the lack of rain in the south of the Serengeti caused Lake Ndutu to shockingly dry up for the first time in 25 years, as a result there were early erratic movements of herds moving to the Western Corridor and the Mara, with some groups failing to cross over to Kenya.
Unless the Southern Plains receive good rains later in the season during the "short-rains" this month, we predict that the herds might linger in the Lobo region and not move as far south as Ndutu but stay around Seronera and the Moru Kopjes before heading for the Western Corridor and back up to the Mara. Either way it will be an interesting 2012 season with unpredictable movements.
To view the ground-breaking movement of the migration, contact one of our friendly consultants on info@jenmansafaris.com and enjoy a spectacular trip on one of our tours such as our East Africa Migration Discoverer: 14-day half or fully accommodated safari from Aursha to Arusha! Priced from USD 2835 / EUR 2268 per person!
