Exciting news: Mid-range East African safaris... a first for Jenman Safaris and East Africa!

Garth Jenman (Managing Director) and Johan Pfahl (Reservations Manager) are currently travelling in Tanzania were they are having a fantastic time... they keep us up-to-date daily by sending us images, updates and blogs - how their trip is going, how much fun they are having (yes, we were all green with envy) and the progress of the implementation of Jenman's new East African mid-range safaris venture!

If you would like to see the updates of their trip please click here to visit our fan page or here for our blog - there are a few funny pictures like; Garth having to get a yellow fever injection... and we thought men weren't scared of needles...?

But jokes aside, we are sure you really want to know more about our mid-range safaris in East Africa. In 2012 we will be offering mid-range East African safaris, something we haven't done before. Traditionally we have offered wonderful lodge and luxury safaris to Kenya and Tanzania (we will still offer those) which have always been very popular but always a little costly. With many clients wanting to explore East Africa in the same manner in which we offer safaris to Southern Africa we had a "light-bulb moment"... Why not expand even more into East Africa by offering mid-range safaris...? And, this is exactly what Garth and Johan have been secretly doing.

Our new mid-range East African safaris will give clients the opportunity to explore the Serengeti and other famous areas at more affordable rates and in Jenman's popular Southern Africa safari manner. This means that they will travel in either our 12-seater Isuzu 4x4 or our 10-seater Land Cruiser around Tanzania and Kenya, enjoy comfortable accommodation with a mix of accommodated and camping options and, stay within East African national parks or other places of interest!

We will be offering a 15-day Kenya and Tanzania safari as well as an 8-day Tanzania tour to start off with... for more information please contact us on info@jenmansafaris.com

KFC Advert; spot Jenman Safaris and win!

Guess what?! KFC featured our 18-seater Jenman truck in their latest advert "Snax live on the run"... Well ... We are not a hundred percent where this advert was shot, what tour was running and which fantastic guide parked our truck in the background of the advert... but we are part of the advert and it's still our claim to fame!

Competition time! Watch the video and let us know how many seconds or minutes into the advert (precisely) our truck was spotted! Correct entries will be entered into a lucky draw where you will win a bottle of fabulous wine - delivered to your home or office! Email you answer to blog@jenmansafaris.com.

Jenman Safaris gets a bronze award at INDABA!

Yay! We received the bronze award for the category of tour operators for our stand at INDABA at the world-renowned travel show! After lots of hard work we were utterly thrilled to win this award! The competition was tough and there were lots of great stands there!

It's a great achievement - well done to everyone that was involved... Next year we are going for silver?

Zimbabwe FAM Trip

Around INDABA time we normally host FAM trips which are specific tours that are put together for our agents so that they can learn more about certain destinations, experience the Jenman vehicles and stay in different accommodation options that we offer (camping to accommodated). Nerene and Yael, two brand new consultants, had barely started at Jenman Safaris when we told them to pack their bags and go to Zimbabwe! Naturally, they were thrilled and this is what Nerene had to say about her trip:

For me the highlight and eye opener of this trip was the hospitality of the people right down to the ordinary person in the street. I felt completely safe walking the streets of Bulawayo and the surrounds..

Zimbabwe welcomed me with the spray of the Falls, the majestic Victoria Falls. I knew then this could only get better. The Lion Walk at Antelope Park is really something, to be able to walk aside a lion - I have to be honest it was pretty scary but I really enjoyed it. Our visit to Hwange National Park was amazing we even had hectic traffic jams or should I say elephant traffic. The game viewing was great too... In 8 days I experienced a lot, what an unforgettable experience. My trip to Zimbabwe was the first of many more to come, definitely a country one has to go to!

If you would like to discover Zimbabwe why not join us on our 15-day Intimate Zimbabwe Lodge Safari. At this stage, we have departure dates confirmed for the 3rd July and 4th September. For more info, please visit our website or email us on info@jenmansafaris.com

Alternatively, spend 5 nights in Zimbabwe exploring the legendary Victoria Falls and enjoying game viewing activities in Hwange National Park. Priced from USD 1 785 per person sharing (excluding flights) and includes fantastic accommodation at the Ilala Lodge and Somalisa Camp!

Zimbabwe Brochure - what's in it?

We launched our Zimbabwe brochure at INDABA and the response was overwhelming. Not to boast too much - but, everyone loved it, everyone spoke about it and it was a HUGE success! If you would like a copy of your very own Zimbabwe brochure please email us on info@jenmansafaris.com...

Below is an exert of one of our pages - the brochure is broken down into areas in Zimbabwe with each page boasting fantastic accommodation. You are also able to browse through great safaris and learn more about Zimbabwe!

Tripadvisor votes Cape Town the best destination in the WORLD!

We can't say that we were too surprised that Cape Town was voted as the best destination in the world... after all, its where our head office is and where we are all currently! Cape Town beat the likes of Sydney, Machu Picchu, Paris, New York, Rome, London, Barcelona, and Prague to be voted the best destination in the world... Hmmm...Sounds like Cape Town must really be a fantastic destination? See... It's not just us who thinks so!

This is what Tripadvisor had to say: "Cape Town glistens at the southern toe of the African continent. Tourist brochure-views at Blaauwberg Beach and Kirstenbosch National Botanical Gardens are within easy driving distance of "The Mother City". The Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve provides sweeping sea vistas, hiking trails and wildlife encounters"

If you would like to explore Cape Town please contact us or visit our Cape Town website which will show you the best options that this winning destination can offer you.

Meet Martina, our little German gem!

Martina is one of our 'newbie's' in our office - our little German gem! She may have only started at Jenman in February but has since become a valued asset to our company. She has quite a strong German accent which sometimes makes us laugh (if you need a giggle, ask her to pronounce "Hluluwe") BUT... apparently we make her laugh too, the way in which we pronounce certain words with our South African accents...??

When Martina isn't working hard you can find her outside trying to boogie board on one of Cape Town's beaches, hiking on and around Table Mountain (she just did the Indian Window trial!), eating breakfast on a 'magic carpet' in Stillbaai or drinking famous South African wines in Franschhoek!

She has a very long list of places that she wants to go too... perhaps time for an educational?

I would love to go to Madagascar, I love tropical beaches and I want to meet all the exotic animals there! I also want to go to Zimbabwe or Botswana... Hmmm actually Zimbabwe AND Botswana as Africa is so unique and beautiful (goosebump feeling)... Especially when you are in the bush - I just want to sit with a glass of wine near a waterhole during sunset and take in the sounds of nature! Afterwards I would love to sleep in a luxury tent and then wake up to animal sounds and sightings near my tent!

Sounds like a nice list... wonder what you will think of their accents too???
