SOUTH AFRICAN SAFARIS AND THE KAPAMA PRIVATE GAME RESERVE
The Kapama Private Game Reserve is located in the Limpopo Province... This South African private game reserve was proclaimed a nature reserve in 1993 covering a massive area of 13 000 ha! The Kapama Game Reserve is not only a nature conservation area but is also a region that hosts luxury safari accommodation; Kapama Lodge, Kapama River Lodge and the Kapama Buffalo Lodge are the most popular establishments. The Kapama Nature Reserve is located in an ideal location – close to the Drakensberg Mountain range, near the Kruger National Park and close to an airpstrip!
The Kapama Game Reserve boasts the Big 5 (lion, leopard, buffalo, elephant and rhino) as well as giraffe, impala, wildebeest, kudu, cheetah and hyena to name a few. There are over 350 different bird species and minimal fences allow the animals to roam freely amongst the different reserves.
The Hoedspruit Endagered Species Centre is near the Kapama Game Reserve, making Kapama a central place for an interesting and historic safari! The Nyani Tribal Village is also close the Kapama region – here you can learn traditional dancing techniques as well as tribal traditions.
There are many fantastic activities that you can do in the Kapama Private Game Reserve, such as; bird-watching, boat trips, white river rafting, micro light trips, hot-air balloon rides, game drives, guided walks, elephant-back safaris, clay pigeon shooting, picnics and so much more!
The best time to visit the Kapama Game Reserve are the months of November and December. October to March is the summer season where the flowers are in bloom, baby buck are learning to walk and birds are migrating - the temperatures are high, reaching the soaring 30ºC! Winter is great for game-viewing as all the animals flock to the watering holes to reach the water as water is generally scare during those months.
We can tailor-make a safari to the Kapama Private Game Reserve to meet your departure dates and budget... There are also other South African attractions beneath that you might want to visit on your South African Safari.
