The Mudumo National Park, often referred to in African safari brochures as the Mudumu National Park, indicates the same lush Namibia area on the Eastern border of the Caprivi Strip. Dense savannah and Mopane woodland characterise the Mudumo National Park, which stretches across a vast Namibian area of 1010 square kilometres. In contrast to other parts of Namibia the Mudumo National Park is lush and swampy, bordered by the Kwando River to the west. The wildlife includes some rarely seen water antelope; the amphibious sitatunga and the red lechwe. Their hooves have adapted to manage the Mudumo Park’s swampy terrain and the sitatunga is a good swimmer.

Another rare sighting in the Mudumo National Park is the recent return of the wild dog to this Namibian area. In February 2008, a litter of six pups was spotted in the Park. In addition to the antelope and dogs, buffalo, Burchells' zebra, elephants, hippos and crocodiles can also be spotted. Tiger fishing on the Kwando River is a further Namibia safari holiday attraction. However, this Namibian area is a high risk malaria area, so take the necessary precautions when embarking on a Mudumo National Park safari.

Birdlife abounds in the Mudumo National Park with some 430 species of bird. Some of the more extraordinary birds found in this Namibian area include the Slaty egrets, white-rumped babblers, greater swamp warblers, chirping cisticolas, swamp boubous, black coucals, coppery tailed and Senegal coucals, wattled cranes, pink throated longclaws, pygmy geese, knob-billed duck, lesser gallinules, African and lesser Jacana.
