Lake Arco Angola Safaris

The Arco is a beautiful inland lake that appears out of the middle of nowhere. Lake Arco is a hidden treasure located within a canyon; on the banks of this freshwater oasis, magnificent sandstone rock formations form the backdrop for lush aquatic vegetation, water lilies and a diversity of birds. The Arco shows Angola as a country with diverse vegetation; in one day in this area you will travel through thick bush, savannah grasslands, and arid deserts with Welwitchia plants, around the Arco with its lush vegetation, and back to desolate desert landscapes. 

The views around The Arco inland lake are absolutely stunning. In the area around the Arco, the local Kimbundu people live in huts and can be seen fishing, planting sugarcane crops and working on organised farmlands.  Footpaths to and from the Arco are accessible, and offer the best vantage point to see the birdlife and amazing sandstone cliffs.
